Couples Retreat-Meditation #1

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1078940/

I first saw the commercial for Couples Retreat long before it came out on October 9, 2009. I went on a cold October night with my boyfriend. It was a funny take on some serious relationship problems that face many couples in the world. Of course, we didn’t expect anything less from Vince Vaughn. It was something that can be enjoyed by both sexes, even though it was closer to a chick flick than a comedy.

Value Messages-Relationships take work and are with fighting for if it is something that you really want, and with someone that you want to be with.

Emotional Transfer- Emotions of love, lust, and desire. Love of someone you care for, someone you are in a relationship with and family. Lust-black guy is lusting for his young, new girlfriend after his wife leaves him, but his heart lies with his wife. Having a desire to work on your problems, help friends and get away from the chaos of everyday life and take a vacation.

Timing-All of the elements of the movie work perfectly together. First there is the introduction of the characters and then the problem arises. They find a solution, but more events take place that cause mayhem and arguments. The climax hits. Then a true solution is found at the end.

Technological Shift-First watched the trailer online, then went to the movie theatres, and can now purchase it in the form of a DVD, watch it on the internet, or get it for your computer.

Overall it was a good movie, something that was a good break from reality, it wasn't laugh out loud funny, but it was humerous, after a long week. I would recommend it, but I think it takes a specific type of humor to truly enjoy it.
